Planning: inflation index rose by 1.6%

Indicators of inflation rose for the month of October last year to a record 1.6% compared to prices in the month of September, as announced by the Ministry of Planning.
The spokesman said the name Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi said that “it was the result of higher prices of some materials, especially food, which amounted to 6% at the level of Iraq, in addition to the Department of Housing increased by 2.5%.”
“The Department of Housing also increased by 2.5% and the index is still significantly affects the high and low inflation,” noting that “the annual inflation rate for the period from October 2012 until October 2013 also saw the rise to record 3%.”
He added that “the Central Bureau of Statistics of the Ministry of Planning completed the inflation report for the month of October last year on the basis of field data collection for prices of goods and services components of the consumer basket of selected sample of sales outlets in all governorates of Iraq.”
